In Loving Memory of Denis Walsh
Denis Christopher Walsh
Born February 26, 1946 along with his twin Douglas who passed away at the young age of 2. Raised and educated in Dublin Ireland, Denis immigrated to Canada September 23, 1963. He arrived in London, ON and lived with his eldest sister Betty (known as "Mother Goose") and her husband Dick. Immediately obtaining work at Drug Trading Ltd., a pharmaceutical warehouse, on October 2nd, 1963 at the age of 18. Denis became manager of the London facility and in 1983 moved his family to Toronto, as he was appointed Vice President of Operations.
Denis was know as "Denny" to his loving wife, Jacqueline, of 54 years. As an Irish tradition everyone got a nickname, and Denis was known by family as "Pal". What a great tribute because he really was a pal to his family. Denis enjoyed politics, followed current events, engaged in good debate and was great with financials. A man of integrity, honour and empathy, he always championed the underdog, and kept confidence without anyone having to ask.
Denis fought a courageous battle during this past year with chemotherapy, numerous hospital visits, lab work and scans. He never complained about the treatment, or how he was feeling, but had great regret over losing his hair. He was an unassuming soul that shall be dearly missed by many that knew him and especially by his family. No more appointments now Denny, except the one that really counts - with the man upstairs... your condo in the sky.. with all your friends and family members waiting to greet you.
Rest in peace Pal.
All donations made in memory of Denis will go to the MSH Oncology department as well as in honour of Dr. Mateya Trinkaus
