Support Barb & Help Me Reach My Trek Everest Fundraising Goal!

Hi there,
Those of you who know me well know that I love new challenges. However, it may surprise you to know that my current challenge is a trek to Mount Everest base camp where it's cold. (yes I said cold) I'm overlooking that minor detail to participate with other great people in the adventure of a lifetime. Needless to say I'm really excited and asking you to consider pledging your support for a cause that is near and dear to my heart.
Markham Stouffville Hospital serves a fast-growing neighbourhood and needs a new operating room (OR) to meet the needs of the community. So for 15 days, from April 22 to May 6 - I will join a dedicated group of MSH supporters, physicians, colleagues and friends to journey from Kathmandu, Nepal through the Himilayas up to Base Camp on Mount Everest - the HIGHEST mountain in the world!
This Adventure of a Lifetime celebrates the 65th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hilary's ascent to the top, and will be accompanied by his son Peter Hilary.
Trek Everest will certainly be no easy feat. But to ensure a successful adventure, I ask you to make a tax-deductible gift to support my fundraising efforts to ensure the highest quality care for the MSH community - for generations to come.
The need is becoming acute for a new, hybrid OR equipped for fluoroscopy. This important surgical tool uses X-rays to obtain real-time moving images and is essential for angiograms, angioplasties, urological and cardiac interventions and many other procedures. The result will be increased capacity for surgical procedures, decreased wait times and, through its design and larger dimensions, the new OR will be flexible and allow grow for future equipment expansion.
Government cannot fund all priority equipment and technology needs, that is why your generous support is so vital and appreciated!
As a group we will also be donating $50,000 to the Hilary Foundation to provide much needed support to the people of Nepal. I will also join several other trekkers volunteering for four days at a medical clinic prior to our climb.
Please join me in this adventure by making a donation today to help me reach my fundraising goal. Please note, that I am also able to accept offline donations and cheques payable to Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, kindly contact me directly for details.
The adventure begins...
Thanks so very much,
Barb
